Since September 21, 2025, the Sanctuary of San Miguel del Milagro, located in the municipality of Nativitas, Tlaxcala, has begun to receive the first pilgrims who come to pay homage to the Archangel Saint Michael. This sanctuary, recognized for its spiritual importance and miraculous history, is a meeting point for the faithful from various communities in Tlaxcala and other states of the Mexican Republic.
A Tradition of Faith and Gratitude
The arrival of the pilgrims marks the beginning of a season of devotion that intensifies as the main feast day approaches. Visitors travel long distances, many on foot, as a sign of their faith and to give thanks for favors received. The sanctuary, dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, is considered a sacred place where, according to tradition, apparitions occurred that gave rise to its name «del Milagro» (of the Miracle).
Religious and Cultural Impact
This flow of pilgrims not only has spiritual significance but also generates an important cultural and economic movement in the region. Local and ecclesiastical authorities have coordinated measures to welcome visitors, ensuring their safety and well-being during their stay. The pilgrimage is a living expression of popular religiosity passed down from generation to generation.
The Sanctuary of San Miguel del Milagro is one of the most emblematic churches in Tlaxcala, and its annual celebration attracts thousands of faithful who seek to renew their faith and participate in liturgical activities. The local Catholic community prepares with masses, processions, and special events to welcome the pilgrims.
