Procession of the Miraculous Virgin Consolidates Its Roots in Alba de Tormes

For the third consecutive year, the ducal town of Alba de Tormes has experienced a day of deep Marian devotion with the procession of the Miraculous Virgin. This event, which since 2023 has been integrated into the traditions of the month of May, gathered numerous faithful in a route accompanied by the recitation of the Rosary of the Dawn, creating an atmosphere of recollection and community faith.

A Route Starting from the Miraculous House

The procession began its march from the Miraculous House, a reference point and origin of this young tradition. From there, the image of the Virgin traversed several streets of the municipality, symbolizing a moment of spirituality and encounter for the participants, who accompanied the passage of the statue with prayer and hymns.

An Intergenerational Encounter Full of Symbolism

One of the most notable and emotional moments of the day occurred at the Santiago and San Marcos Senior Residence. The image made a special stop in front of the center, where the residents awaited with anticipation. In a gesture of affection and veneration, the elderly threw rose petals at the passing of the Virgin, creating a scene of great tenderness that highlighted the inclusive nature of the devotion.

This procession thus consolidates itself as a significant element within the devotions that the locality dedicates to the Virgin Mary during the month of May. Its annual celebration not only enriches the liturgical and Marian calendar of Alba de Tormes but also adds a nuance of closeness and citizen participation, strengthening community bonds through shared faith. The continuity of this event demonstrates how a new tradition can take root and complement the historical religious practices of a community.
